VEROLAN NBE Metal Chelating Agent
Product Type
Anionic water softener composed of polyacrylic acid and various organic salts.
Scope of Application
Especially suitable for various processes such as scouring and bleaching. It can chelate metal ions such as iron, copper, manganese and calcium in water.
Product Properties
1. Pale yellow clear liquid
2. Easy to dilute in different proportions
3. Specific gravity: 1.24g/cm³ at 20℃
4. pH value: Approximately 7.5 for 10% solution
5. Suitable for various scouring and bleaching processes, with excellent chelating effect on metal ions like iron, copper, manganese and calcium
6. Good stability to acids and alkalis
7. Resistant to various oxidants (e.g. hydrogen peroxide)
8. Optimal performance in pH range of 7-12
9. Easy to clean due to its strong diffusibility
Application Procedures
VEROLAN NBE can exert optimal chelating properties in various scouring and bleaching processes for metal ions such as iron, copper, manganese and calcium. Thanks to its strong diffusibility, it can prevent fabric breakage during tentering and setting after hydrogen peroxide bleaching.
1. Scouring and Bleaching Process (Knitting Process)
- VEROLAN NBE: 1-2 g/L
- Add other scouring and bleaching auxiliaries.
- Dosage depends on water hardness.
2. Cold Bleaching Process (Woven Fabric, Standard Formula)
- NaOH (100%): 20-40 g/L
- H₂O₂ (50%): 6-8 g/L
- RUCO-Wet ADR: 4-8 g/L
- RUCO-STAB OKC: 6-8 g/L
- RUCOGEN DAK: 2-4 g/L
- VEROLAN NBE: 1-2 g/L
- MgCl₂: 0.2 g/L
- Na₂S₂O₈ or (NH₄)₂S₂O₈: 5 g/L
3. Process Supplementary Requirements
- Absorption rate: 100%
- Cold bleaching time: 8-16 hours (wrapped with adhesive tape and rotated)
- Subsequent procedures: Steaming → Washing → Adjusting fabric pH value to 6.8-7.2 → Printing or dyeing
Recommendation
Water glass, as a hydrogen peroxide stabilizer, tends to adhere to the surface of PAD-ROLLER and harden the fabric hand feel. Therefore, it is recommended to use RUCO-STAB OKC, which will not affect the fabric hand feel.
Storage
May solidify if stored below 0℃ for a long time. It can be reused by heating to 20-25℃ and stirring thoroughly.
