Application
Catalase, which has a very wide range of applications, can be used to remove residual hydrogen peroxide from fabrics after enzymatic bleaching and in the bath before dyeing, eliminating the influence of oxidants on dyeing.
Characteristics and Benefits
- Effectively decomposes hydrogen peroxide
- Improves the color yield and dyeing reproducibility of oxidant-sensitive dyes such as reactive and direct dyes
- Enzymatic agent, with water and oxygen as decomposition products
- Only acts on hydrogen peroxide and the decomposition products have no impact on fabrics and dyes
- Protects fibers from damage
- The treated bath can be directly used for dyeing without water change
- Very wide application range: from pH 3 to 10 and up to 65°C
- Highly efficient system with reliable results and good safety for subsequent dyeing processes
- Stable liquid that can be mixed with water in any proportion
- Convenient for handling and weighing, with high efficiency and good reproducibility
- Good biodegradability, with water and oxygen as decomposition products
- Decomposition products and process are environmentally friendly
Properties
Chemical composition: Catalase (enzyme protein) preparation
pH: Approximately 6-8 (1% solution)
Specific gravity at 20°C: Approximately 1 g/cm³
Physical form: Liquid
Storage stability: Stable for 6 months in a closed container at 20°C. The product is sensitive below 0°C and above 40°C.
Toxicity/Environmental: Storage, handling, and use of this product should comply with general hygiene and safety regulations for chemicals. Do not swallow.
Application
Conditions for Gernzyme KO-01:
pH range: 3-10, with an optimal pH of 5-8.
Temperature up to 65°C, with an optimal temperature of 25-50°C.
Treatment time: 10-20 minutes.
Dosage: 0.2 to 1 g/l.
Batch process
Drain after hydrogen peroxide bleaching.
Wash with hot water at 60-90°C for 5-10 minutes.
Run in fresh bath at 40-60°C for 5-10 minutes, neutralize and wash with Gerning BF.
Run in fresh bath containing Gernzyme KO-01 for 15 minutes. If possible, test the residual hydrogen peroxide content in the bath. If using Merck hydrogen peroxide test strips, directly dye in the original bath without changing the water.
